Lincoln Gardens Update

You may have noticed as you drive through the pickup line that the raised bed gardens are being planted…Grades 2/3 are creating Salsa Gardens to make salsa next fall. The other teams will be planting on Tuesday. We have added straw bales this year as part of a grant we received from the Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom. We have been conditioning them and watering them and they are now ready for planting. The internal temperature of each bale is now over 100 degrees due to decomposition. Students will be planting vegetable and flowers on each bale. Hopefully we will be able to see if there is a difference in the plant growth between the raised beds and the straw bales.
