"Life Support" - Science Program at Century High School

This year the Century Elementary Program will be offering a new course entitled “Life Support”. This class is taught by the Advanced and Honors biology students and the Science Club of Century High School.
This course is offered for students in Grades 1-3 and 3-5.
Class Dates, Times and Grades:
Class I April 10, 17, 24, and May 1 and 8 (Wednesdays) 4:00 - 5:30 PM for Grades 1-3
Class II April 11, 18, 25, May 2 and 9 (Thursdays) 4:00 - 5:30 PM for Grades 3-5
Cost: $60.00 for the 5 week course

The program will explore the needs of organisms in order to maintain life. We will be looking at organisms ranging from protozoa to fungi to plants and animals. We might even include a few bacteria. We have many live animals and plants as we explore the systems needed for life to exist. Units include: 1. How do things get around in there? (Circulatory System)
2. Does everybody breathe? (Respiratory System)
3. What do they eat? (Digestive System)
4. How do they protect themselves (Integumentary System)
5. How do they move and where do they go? (Skeletal and Muscle systems)
