The Fleece Is In!

Dear Lincoln Families,
We need help pre-cutting fleece fabric for the school-wide tie-blanket project. We have 19 blankets to pre-cut before students do the tying. It takes about 30 minutes to cut fringe all the way around two yards of double-stacked fleece fabric. Please stop by the library for fabric and instructions.  Thank you for your help!  Mrs. B, Media teacher and Student Government Advisor

Student Government Information

Student Government Information
Student Government needs some adult help cutting fleece fabric for the school-wide service project.  In January, Lincoln students raised $384 in a school-wide Penny War to buy fleece fabric to make blankets for the kids at the Ronald McDonald House and Women’s Shelter.  Now we need some help cutting the fabric, so it is ready for the students to tie.

Fabric will be in the Media Center on Monday 2/11.  If you are available to help cut fleece fabric, please stop by the Media Center next week.  We will provide the space, instructions, and the fabric scissors. Contact Jenny Bruenger for more information:  jebruenger@rochester.k12.mn.us.

"I Love to Read" Bingo

“I Love to Read” Bingo

February is an exceptional month for celebrations—African-American History Month, Chinese New Year, Presidents Day, and it is “I Love to Read” Month.

To encourage more reading, and reading books about this month’s celebrations, Mrs. B is sending out an “I Love to Read” Bingo Card to all K-5 students.  Students interested in participating must return a bingo card to the library by March 1.  Completed cards will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a prize.

Order your Lincoln Memory Book!

It's time to order your student’s Memory Book!  The book is being created by students and will be delivered in May. The price is only $12.00, which has not changed in four years.

Order forms will be going home next week, but you can order online at www.book.hrimaging.com   We will also have a link for you as parents to upload images of events outside of school that you would like considered for the memory book.  We cannot order extras, so it is important that if you want a book you remember to order one.  They also make great displays at graduation parties showing all the events that happened over the years at Lincoln.

Lost the order form?  Put a check in an envelope with your student’s name and teacher and drop it off at the office or give to your homeroom teacher.
