SAVE THE DATE: 40th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION!

Join Lincoln staff, students, and families to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of our school!

Friday, May 13, 2016 | 4:30 - 7:30 pm

Lincoln K-8 is hosting an evening of fun for the whole family including a fun run/walk, games, and activities followed by a community picnic on the playground. Additional details and registration information will be available in early Spring, but mark your calendars and help spread the word for an event you won’t want to miss!

As the event approaches we will need help in a variety of ways. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Naura Webb: naurabeth@gmail.com

Help Our Local Animal Shelters

Please consider helping two fifth grade students with their Genius Hour Project by donating to our local animal shelters.  Camp Companion and Paws and Claws are two organizations that rescues, nurtures, and finds homes for cats and dogs in Rochester.  The problem is they often don’t have enough supplies to meet the needs of the animals.  You can help relieve some of the stress caused by lack of supplies by donating new or gently used cat/dog supplies such as: Purina Cat Chow, Purina Kitten Chow, Scoopable Litter, Litter Scoops, toys, beds, canned food, paper towels, bleach based cleaners, etc. There is a gray collection bin in the main foyer, in front of the office.  Please direct any questions to Katrina Milbrandt and/or Sasha Penheiter in Mr. Ruffin’s 5th Grade class.

 Purchase SCRIP at Conferences
cid:image004.png@01CFDE5B.CB936B20Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”.  When you purchase scrip, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, gas, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for our organization to support technology and PLTW at Lincoln. .

How scrip generates revenue for you
The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other non‑profit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers.  Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount.  Our organization buys the scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value.  The discount ‑ from two to fifteen percent or more –  is Lincoln’s revenue.  Remember, If you purchase a $10.00 Kwik Trip card you get the full amount.  So spend $10.00 and get $10.00.  Use SCRIP to purchase thing you would usually purchase with cash or check.
Attached is a listing of SCRIP cards we carry in the office and the Amount of the Rebate.  Print it out and put it on your refrigerator as a reminder

FEBRUARY PPT MEETING - MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 7-8pm - Lincoln Media Center

Please join the PPT this month as we welcome Lindy Lange from RochesterFamilies.com.  Lindy will present information about Summer Programs, Camps, and other Enrichment Opportunities.  This will be a GREAT opportunity to hear from a knowledgeable expert and share ideas about this timely topic as Lincoln families prepare for the upcoming summer months.

We will also hear an update about the Special Projects process to disperse the auction proceeds and this Wednesday's Consensus Meeting (see earlier posts to review applications and to view meeting flyer) and other fun activities planned for the Lincoln community this year.  The Lincoln PPT is the parent, guardian and staff planning team at Lincoln, and all are automatically PPT members.
