Uppers students need to acquire 50 blue ribbons on Study Island in order to go on a day-long musical tour of local schools extolling the reasons to study hard and do well on the MCA tests.

Camp Invention

Exciting STEM Summer Opportunity for your Child:

Unmask your child’s creativity this summer in the Camp Invention program.  This year, Rochester Gibbs will host 2 different weeks, each with different themes and activities.

Camp Invention is an awesome program where children build confidence, learn to collaborate and transform their wild imaginations into epic creations.  Campers in grades K-6 will learn creative problem-solving skills.  Mickey Laughland, a Lincoln 4th grade teacher will direct the camps, and local certified educators will lead this action-packed program featuring exhilarating, hands-on STEM activities teaching children to question, explore, break through obstacles and embrace failure! Early registration discounts are available and listed below!

Here are the topics for each week and a short description:
June 17th -21st  - Supercharged Program:  Gibbs Elementary School –In this program campers will be coding and programming futuristic robots, uncovering ancient fossils, designing high-tech superhero gadgets and exploring radio frequencies.
June 24th -28th  - Create Program:  Gibbs Elementary School –During this week, campers will be will spend their time connecting Sir Isaac Newton’s Three Laws of Motion with amusement park rides as creativity goes full throttle, building original prototypes using real tools and so much more! Lessons explore connections between science, technology, engineering and innovation.

These are the following available discounts:
·        INNOVATE25: $25 off, per camper. Expires on March 22nd.
·        PLAY15FLYER: $15 off, per camper. Available starting March 23rd and expiring on May 10th.  
·        SIBLING: $25 off per sibling when registering 2 or more children. No expiration.
·        HOST: $30 off each registration for employees of the Rochester school district. No expiration.

Lincoln Roca Night

Join us at ROCA to support Lincoln!  In the midst of winter, it is a perfect family friendly evening to get out of the cold and burn off some energy!

$16.00 (+tax) to climb with 50% of the proceeds going to Lincoln.  Spectators will not be charged.  Anyone under the age of 18, MUST have their parent or legal guardian fill out and sign their Visitor Agreement for them. – no exceptions.  If someone other than a parent or guardian is bringing your child to the event, make sure to sign the wavier ahead of time.  Roca has 22 Auto Belays throughout the gym.  An Auto Belay is a device that manages the rope for you while you climb.  Our instructors will take you through a 5-10 minute orientation about the facility rules, show you how to use the Auto Belay devices, fit you into your harness, and then you are free to climb the routes! 

If you are a parent or chaperone climbing with children, you will play an active role in helping your children into and out of the Auto Belays.  You can cheer them on, take turns climbing, and take some amazing photos of them conquering the walls!  
Please wear comfortable athletic clothing and clean, closed-toe gym shoes

A Science Enrichment Program for Elementary Students

This class is taught by the Advanced and Honors biology and Biomedical students and the Science Club of Century High School.  Come join us for a swimming good time as we study the ocean and the animals and plants that live in it through active, hands on laboratories involving the observation and biology of animals, plants and more.  

The funds collected are to cover the costs of the course and fundraising for the Science Club and Science Olympiad needs at Century High school.  See attachment if interested.

Funded Special Projects for 2019!!!

Thank you to everyone who submitted proposals to the 2019 Special Projects.  Participants spent several hours reviewing and discussing the various proposals.  Value was seen in all proposals and the group would have liked to approve them all. However, we had $63,571.92 worth of proposals submitted and a budget of $25,000. Please see attached funded budget. Funds will be available following a majority approval vote by PPT Leadership and those attending the March 18, 2019 PPT Meeting. Please submit your receipts to PPT Treasurer, Paige Ma. Thank you to everyone who participated in another successful Special Projects consensus meeting.
