Lincoln's Fall 2017 FIRST LEGO


It is time to Register for Lincoln's Fall 2017 FIRST LEGO League (FLL)
Click here to complete the registration form by June 15th.
Team's form in June and usually begin meeting in August/September.
Costs:
  •    Fee will be collected August 15th and will be about $100 per child.
    •  If money is a hardship for your family please don’t let that stop you from participating. Contact Cheryl Kliewer at 261-3699 to make other arrangements.
  •     Teams meet 4-6 hours a week Sept. – Dec.

Project Family: Several years ago, student government at the direction of Ally Schroeder the student gov. president began Project Family. One of the best things about Lincoln, they decided, was the family feeling, the sense of community, and they wanted more of it. So Project Family was created. It is a remarkable day everyone laughing, playing and caring for each other.  The entire school will be in cross grade groups. Kindergarten through 8 graders will go to mini classes together taught by all staff. 7-8 graders will pick up K-1 at their classrooms and meet the 2-6 grade kids at their first class. Big kids take care of their little buddies as they transition from class to class
June 8 – Awards Ceremony and 8th grade class ceremony
October 28 – Lincoln Auction

From the Health Office

As a reminder with the school year winding down: 
“All student medication needs to be picked up from the Health Office by 10 AM on Friday, June 9th. This includes all prescription medication (oral medication, Epi Pens, inhalers, etc.) and all over-the-counter medication. By not picking up your child’s medication by the time listed, you are giving consent for Rochester Public Schools to properly dispose of any remaining medication, including Epi pens and inhalers.

Lincoln K-8 Volunteer Opportunities for 2017-2018 School Year

We are nearing the end of the school year and PPT is looking for people for a few committee and leadership roles.

  1.  PPT Secretary:  This is the last year for our current PPT Secretary and we are looking for someone to take on this role for the 2017-2018 school year.  This a 2-year commitment and can be longer if interested.  This is a position where most of the work is done during after school hours.  The secretary is required to attend PPT Leadership meetings as wells as PPT meetings, the meetings occur monthly September through May. They are also required to attend the yearly PPT budget meeting, PPT wrap-up meeting held in June and an Executive committee meeting held in December to determine the Special Projects amount to be released.

2.  PPT President Elect:  This position requires a three year commitment.  The year you are President Elect is the year you shadow the current PPT Co-Presidents to learn the ins and outs of the positon.  The next two years you function in the role as one of the PPT Co-Presidents.  The role requires you to attend PPT L

3.  Social Committee is looking for new members to join their team.  This committee organizes the many family centered events at Lincoln.  Pizza Bingo, Saturday at the Movies, All Pro Dads, School Dance and School Carnival just to name a few.

4.  Auction Committee is looking for volunteers.  This can be a big or small commitment!  There are many opportunities both the day of the auction and days leading up to the auction. There are opportunities during school hours as well as many opportunities that can be done from home or during evening hours.

TEACHER APPRECIATION!

Reading Room Zip-Loc Bag Request:

The Reading Room is gearing up for Lincoln’s Summer Reading Program.  Once again, we will be distributing bags of books for our students over the summer.  To help us get ready, we are looking for any gently used Zip-Loc Bags that you might have at home and are willing to donate to our program!

LINCOLN CARNIVAL - This Saturday, May 20, 10am to 1pm





The Lincoln PPT Social Committee invites you to join the Lincoln community for a day of FUN for the entire family, this Saturday, May 20, from 10am to 1pm.  Activities include bowling, limbo, a cake walk, ball toss, bean bags, duck pond, popcorn, cotton candy, a flamingo toss, plinko game, hula hoop, frog flinger, and spin the wheel.  Mr. Pizza will be selling pizza by the slice and beverages from 11am-1pm.
