Talent Show Auditions - May 1-3

Auditions for the Talent Show are May 1-3. Students were informed of these dates about a month ago. Students can perform a 0-2 minute talent of their choosing. It must be rehearsed; they must have whatever they need to audition (music, props, etc.) those days. We ask that karaoke music, or instrumental music be supplied for students who want to sing.
The Talent Show will occur on the afternoon of May 24.

May 24 - Project Family Day - Volunteer Teachers Needed!

Project Family Day - May 24 - Morning
Last spring, Lincoln parents, staff and students took a day to come together as a community. Groups of kids from all grades participated in mini elective classes all morning, learning and growing in all our multiple intelligence areas. Last year 33 classes were offered. Just a few of these were: Crepes, Karaoke, Czech Republic, Poetry Bags, Interpersonal Games, Baseball, Fishing, Community Service, Replanting, Robotics, and Pinwheels.

So, it is time to gather volunteers and solicit class ideas for this year. We would love to have you volunteer your time and talents teaching a class to mixed groups of Lincoln students. Classes can be either 20 or 45 minutes in length. You can have about 5, 10, or 15 kids in a class. You can work solo or with a team of friends. Please let me know what kind of space/equipment you want to use for your class (inside, outside, a projector, tables, etc.). Please e-mail me your class title and information (20 or 45 min class, number of kids per class, and space requirements). The more volunteers we have, the more fun our day is. If you do not want to teach but want to help direct traffic, let me know as well.

Thanks for your willingness to enrich the lives of our kids and as always, your flexibility and devotion to Lincoln Choice School.

Lincoln Raised Bed and Butterfly Gardens - Help Wanted!

Compost for Lincoln Raised Bed Gardens - We currently have six raised bed gardens that will be planted shortly. We have someone who is willing till the gardens this week but we really need some compost from the Waste to Energy center to top off each garden before we till. If you have a truck and are willing to pick up some compost and deliver it to school we would really appreciate it. Please contact us soon if you are interested!

Mulching - In the not too distant future we will need to remulch the butterfly garden and the walking space between the raised bed gardens. If you would like to help spread mulch, please let us know. We are requesting between 10 and 15 yards so we have a lot of mulch to spread!

Volunteers for Lincoln Haunted Hallways Space Needed

Please consider volunteering to coordinate the Lincoln Haunted Hallways space this year. It is a very fun event and a fundraiser for Lincoln. You could help Lincoln create a fun (not scary) Halloween themed space for the young kids or a spooky space (with uppers acting) to frighten the older kids.
The event will be October 24-26.

The event is a fundraiser for Rochester Public Schools with 100% of the proceeds going to the schools. While the amount can vary, the amount that has gone directly back to Lincoln each of the last two years has been $1000.00 per year and Lincoln has also been granted $4000.00 additional funds raised from the event including InSciEd Out Garden Project and iPads for All.

The Haunted Hallways Planning Team will work with you to help you generate ideas and plan your space if you wish. Past Lincoln Haunted Hallways Leads will also assist you.
Please contact Dani Nikolai at dani.nikolai@gmail.com or 216-4124 for more details or if you have questions. Please try to respond by May 7 so we can let the planning team know Lincoln will be involved in Haunted Hallways 2013 by the response deadline of May 8. There will be a Haunted Hallways Volunteer Meeting on May 15 from 7-8pm to give you a tour of the space and all the details you need. Thank you for considering this opportunity!
